The coming days and weeks will see a formation of parties that will work together to write a new Constitution for the Tunisian people. The PES urges this formation to be strong and united, with the hopes, aspirations and needs of the people at the centre of it. The PES wishes that Ettakatol and Mustapha Ben Jaafar will play an important role in the modernization of the country.
The PES is pleased to hear that Ettakatol is open to working with all partners and determining other parties’ intentions and programs, to figure out if they share common principles.
PES Secretary General Philip Cordery said “we are very pleased for the results received by Ettakatol and Mustapha Ben Jafar, our partners. Now is a very important time for the Tunisian people and the political parties who are trying to come together. We support the voices of the progressive parties, such as Ettakatol, in their effort to be heard and to participate in writing a Constitution based on democracy and equality”.
