Environment

The PES stands for a sustainable, energy-efficient and environmentally aware European Union. For years it has been our declared goal to combat the effects of climate change and transform the European economy into a modern, knowledge-based, low-carbon economy that is prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. These positions have again been confirmed during the PES Council in Warsaw (December 2010) and the 8th PES Congress in Prague (December 2009), during meetings of the PES environment ministers and of the PES Environment and Climate Change Network. The PES will continue to work towards achieving these goals on all European, national, and regional levels.
