This conference helped set the tone for Socialist and Social democrat contributions to the Informal European Summit on 27 October and the discussion at the meeting of PES Leaders and Prime Ministers, which was co-hosted by Prime Minister Tony Blair and PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen on the eve of the Informal Hampton Court Summit.
