PES action week on childcare
2007 PES is organising PES action weeks to build up a common team spirit between all supporters. Activists groups from all over Europe are invited to join in and campaign on one common topic.
The first PES action week is taking place in April. PES activist are invited to contribute to our PES campaign on childcare or to organise an event based on the PES campaign on childcare.
These are the actions, that PES activist groups are organising:
Poznan (POLAND)
On March 31 a big EU birthday event will be organised in Poznan. Part of it will be a tent where children can play. PES activists will collect finger-print signatures from children. PES secretary general Philip Cordery is taking part in the event and he will hold a speech about EU birthday and the new social Europe.
Detmold (GERMANY)
PES activists will have a childcare campaign day on Easter Monday with collection of signatures and the organization of small debates related to childcare issues in Germany and in Europe
PES activists will organize a conference on childcare in Portugal and Europe, with PES women president Zita Gurmai and MEP Edite Estrela as confirmed speakers. There might even be other high level speakers to participate.
Budapest (HUNGARY)
PES activists will organise a stand at 1st of May, present the PES and collect signatures for the childcare book.
London (UNITED KINGDOM)
Labour Movement for Europe is planning to hold an event of support for PES childcare campaign.
