

Annual priorities for the EU agenda
Since 2005, the PES has set political priorities for the EU agenda every year. Our objective is for the European Union to focus on citizens’ real concerns and ensure that Europe’s people benefit from European policies and actions.
The PES has 5 priorities for the EU agenda in 2007:
- A common European energy policy to promote sustainable development
- The promotion of excellence and inclusiveness in education and training
- Childcare for all: achieving the European Union’s targets for childcare
- Public services : ensuring that appropriate legal frameworks are established to safeguard public services in the EU
- An EU strategy for decent work as a global objective
PES Priorities for the EU policy agenda 2008
have been aproved by the Leaders' Conference on 21 June 2007.
