PSD Romania and BSP Bulgaria - 2 important players in the PES

Full members since 2005

Since January 2007 Romania and Bulgaria are members of the European Union. The socialist parties of Romania PSD and Bulgaria BSP have been full members of the Party of European Socialists for a much longer time: Since 2005.

In the meantime members from PSD form the second largest group of PES activists: more than 500 in the beginning of 2007. Almost 400 Romanian registered at the last Congress of the socialist youth in 2006.

In the last months PES activists could discuss with PSD party leader Mircea Geoana and BSP party leader Sergei Stanishev by putting their questions at the PES activists interview.
