"Social Europe" the electronic quarterly journal - new publications
The PES and its member parties support 'Social Europe', a think tank which publishes an electronic quarterly journal. Social Europe aims to be a place for basic principle discussions and to provide direct exchange of ideas between social democrats from the entire continent.
'Social Europe' - the name outlines the program. In general opposition to conservative and neo-liberal ideas, the think tank stands up for the design and deepening of the European societal model on the basis of social democratic values. Social Europe supports the development of the integration process and it wants to assure European 'unity in diversity'.

Social Europe launches "A continent's answer to market capitalism"
Social Europe has launched a new electronic issue on Social Justice in Europe and the World. The must read: Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz' article on 'Social Justice and Global Trade'. Other contributions by: Joseph Stiglitz, Mercedes Bresso, Detlev Albers, Anneke Ribberink, Chris Lorenz, Karl Duffek and Dimitris Tsarouhas.
The yearbook "A continental answer to market fundamentalism"
Social Europe has launched its first printed yearbook. In it you can find strategies to fight market fundamentalism and a global approach to the challenges the European social model is facing.
Left politicians from all Europe present their ideas for new policy strategies, defending the social-democratic conception of citizenship and the core values of human equality, solidarity, and dignity. Amongst others you can find in the yearbook articles written by prominent PES members: PES president Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Vladimír Špidla and Zita Gurmai MEP and president of PES Women.
