Poul Nyrup Rasmussen (PES President), Jiri Paroubek (Prime Minister Czech Republic), Romano Prodi (Prime ministerial candidate for Italy), Matthias Platzeck (Leader of SPD Germany) and Robert Fico (Leader SMER-SD Slovakia) gave their comments on the discussions, which took place during the Leaders' meeting during a press conference. The core of the discussions revolved around two major themes: growth and jobs; and energy. The Leaders also talked about the situation in the Middle-East.
