Philip Cordery

Secretary General

Born in France on 17 April 1966, Philip Cordery is married and has three children. After having studied Languages applied to law and economics at the University of Paris X Nanterre, he joined the staff of the President of the French National Assembly (1992-1993). Member of the French Socialist party since 1985, he became International secretary of the French young socialists (MJS) in 1990. Co-founder of ECOSY, the Young European socialists, in November 1992, Philip Cordery became its first Secretary General (1992-1997). After working a year with the Party of European Socialists (PES), he was appointed Head of the International department of the French Socialist party (1998-2004). He is Member of the National Council of the PS since 1994.

On 15 June 2004, Philip Cordery was appointed Secretary General of the Party of European Socialists.
