Coming up soon: PES Council in Madrid
Party leaders and delegates will gather in Madrid on December 1 and 2 this year. Topping the agenda will be the adoption of the PES manifesto for the 2009 European elections. PES activists will be invited to attend and take part in PES Council as individual guests. Read more
Yourspace is still your space
The summer holidays are over and politics are heating up again. Yourspace is THE place where European social democrats and socialists share news and views. We’re making new politics. We were the first to run a consultation on a socialist manifesto for Europe. 300,000 visits and more than 600 written contributions later we are now launching open debates on the hot issues that shape European politics.
A welcome to the PES activist city group number 50: “Commission Europe Bas Rhin”
PES activists is exceeding our expectations. After reaching 10.000 activists at the Vienna PES activists forum in July, last week the 50th group of PES activists asked to be connected to our PES activists city group network. Now the “Commission Europe Bas Rhin” from the French PS can be found on our Google map. Jamming for Obama
The Democratic National Convention in Denver elected Barack Obama their candidate for presidential elections. PES activists in Hungary are showing their support for Barack Obama by preparing apricot jam for the Democrat candidate to the US Presidency. In fact, "Barack" means apricot in Hungarian so activists meeting in the Hungarian city Tallya decided to produce and sell this jam labelled "Barack for Obama". Read more

Spice up your local party life with a twinning
Twinnings between local sections of PES member parties can add a lot of fun to your local party life. Visit socialists and social democrats in other countries. Learn about their activities and from their experiences. Organise campaigning elements and events together. Decent and affordable housing in European cities
On October 6 in the European Parliament PES president Poul Nyrup Rasmussen will speak on the New Social Europe and the importance of “Decent and affordable housing in European cities” in a meeting which is organised in Brussels by the International Union of Tenants (IUT). Find more information here
New Facebook page for PES activists
The internet is an important tool for PES activists to exchange their views and experiences. In August 2008 the PES activists Facebook page was launched expanding the social network activities of the PES. Already since January 2008, Facebook users can become supporters of our Yourspace page. We are looking forward for your support!
