First PES action week a success!
In several European cities, PES activists supported the PES child care campaign
PES action weeks are the perfect tool to build up common team spirit between all PES activists. City groups from all over Europe are invited to join in and campaign on one common topic.
The first PES action week has taken place in April 2007. PES activists were invited to contribute to our PES campaign on child care or to organize an event based on the PES campaign on child care.

A debate on child care with PES women president Zita Gurmai in Lisbon
PES activists have organized a debate on "child care in Portugal and Europe" with amongst others PES women president Zita Gurmai and MEP Edite Estrela. The PES campaign that focuses on children’ interests and aims at providing child care facilities that can provide the same rights to all parents was combined with the launch event of PES activists Portugal.

PES Secretary General celebrates EU 50th birthday with PES activists in Poznan
On March 31st a big EU birthday event was organised in Poznan. Part of it was a play street for children. PES activists collected finger-print signatures from children. PES Secretary General Philip Cordery took part in the event and he held a speech about EU birthday and the new Social Europe. The event, set in the city center, gathered numerous guests and residents.

Promoting the PES child care campaign in Poland ![]()


Detmold (GERMANY)
PES activists went on the street for a child care campaign day on Easter Monday. They set up a stand, collected signatures and distributed flyers promoting child care.

PES activists organized a stand at 1st of May, present the PES and collect signatures for the child care book.
