The PES activists video of support for the European elections in Romania and Bulgaria is now also available in Romanian language. Show your support by giving your comments on youtube. Mission accomplished:

Belgium PS and Laurette Onkelinx invite PES activists to help in national elections campaign
On Saturday June 2 PES activists took part in an campaign exchange with Belgian PS activists. Together they met Belgian vice-prime minister and minister of justice, Laurette Onkelinx.


PES Activists initiative for the Irish elections now complete
Activists from all over Europe travelled to Ireland to help us campaign. Everyone had an enjoyable trip and learnt a lot about Irish campaigning. A big thank you to all the Activists, to all the Irish Labour members who helped and in particular to the PES for helping organize. The highlight for some Activists of course was the day with the Party Leader on his 'Battle Bus', which gained a lot of media attention.

European elections in Bulgaria decided
Bulgarian socialists remain with 5 seats in European Parliamenty - PES activists showed their support on Youtube. Unfortunately the socialist platform only came in second at yesterday's - 21 May 2007 - elections with no clear winner. The socialist group in the European Parliament lost one seat and the Bulgarian socialists send now five MEPS instead of six.

First PES action week on child care a success!
In four European cities, PES activists city groups supported the PES child care campaign and created a wonderful example how campaigning on grassroots level can be a great success.



The French presidential elections: An example for cross-border campaigning
A lot of cross-boarder activities have been organised between activists of PES sister parties for the French election campaign. PS France expatriate branches have been extremely active in promoting the socialist candidate.
The European dimension of the French PS campaign shows the growing cross-border interest and solidarity within the socialist and social democratic family.


Celebrating Women's Day
As each year, the Socialdemocratic Youth Federation and Marek Siwiec`s co-workers, went out to the streets on the 8th of March, the International Women`s Day. Now for the first time as PES activists they were giving not only flowers, but also PES Women leaflets about the 15% pay gap. Many passers-by – mostly men, were involved into discussion about the gender inequality. The action was held in 10 counties.


"SIM" - Campaigning for the Portuguese referendum on depenalising abortion
Sunday, the 11 February, the Portuguese electorate voted on a referendum for the decriminalization of abortion, when requested by the women, up until the ten weeks of gestation, to be made in a legally authorized health facility.


Third March for Equality in Poznan
Almost 500 participants took part in the third March for Equality, which was held on November 18th in Poznan. Because of its opponents, the march could not be completed in 2004 and in 2005. In these years, it was even called illegal by Polish authorities.
