Can we win local elections based on the social democratic values ?
PES activists Romania organized a Training Camp from 14th to 16th of March in Oradea (Nord-West of Romania). Several NGOs and foundations helped us to train around 40 people for the local elections that are going to take place in May. We’ve presented the basic campaign techniques, the way PES activists can be involved in the campaign, how to integrate European themes in the local projects, etc.
The key question in our minds was if one can win local elections based on the social democratic values. Is this enough? What do you think? For those curious to learn more about PES activists Romania you can follow this link to see photos from our events.

PES activists in Poland campaign for women’s rights
On the occasion of the International Women’s Day the representatives of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) and the Young Social Democratic Federation (Federacja Młodych Socjaldemokratów) traditionally handed out roses to the women. This time however a folder issued by Mariek Siwec, Vice-President of the EP, was added to the flowers. In the publication there was information concerning women’s rights and useful addresses of women’s organizations.
