Slovak Extreme Right Government
Date2007/11/09 23:05 by: Social-democratRobert Fico (current Slovak Prime-minister) formed the new Slovak Government with Jan Slota and Vladimir Meciar, well known extreme right politicians. The new Slovak Government members and its party chairmans attack free press and minorities on a regular basis. As an example, a few weeks ago, Mr. Fico's government approved a bill which enshrined Andrej Hlinka (semi-fascist politician) as "father of the nation."
Jan Slota Chairman of the second largest Slovak Government Party, is attacking Romas, Hungarian minority and homosexuals on a daily basis.
Vladimir Meciar, Chairman of the Government party, has attacked journalists and free press several times in the past.
Young Slovak Socialists are currently in a court against Robert Fico.
As a European citizen I am kindly asking the European Socialist Party to put pressure on Robert Fico, Slovak Prime Minister in order to foster the true social-democratic values in Slovakia.
