Swastika ban? Hammer & sickle ban!
Date2007/01/08 18:46 by: MarcelSo the German presidency of the EU again brings up that there should be a ban of Nazi symbols.
Well I agree, there should be. But also, the Soviet/communist symbols like hammer & sickle and likeness of Lenin or Guevara should be banned as well. Communism is after all the most murderous ideology of the 20th century. -

Your attempt to ban and smear the revolutionary Marxist tendency within the broader Socialist movement does nothing but reinforce the power of capitalism and imperialism. Despite its misuse by Stalinist regimes, the hammer and sickle is still a good symbol because it represents the revolutionary unity of the workers and the peasants. This is the very essence of Socialism!

Or did you hear about the 10-15000 deaths at the hands of Fidel Castro's death squads? I guess not.
And did you hear the one about Cuba's medicare standard? It is so good they have to fly in Spanish doctors and equipment to treat the ailing dictator (who killed more than Pinochet did).
There never has been and never will be a succesful example of state socialism because it has some fatal flaws. The most important of all being that there will never be a situation where all work equally hard and perform equally well.
The red terror in the Soviet Union started with Lenin, not Stalin. Mao outdid both of them. Pol Pot is the worst by percentages. And let's not forget Ethiopia's famines of the 1980's (when they had state socialism). -

Date2007/01/20 07:09 by: Dylan FigueiredoThere is no such thing as "state socialism." Socialism implies the withering away of the state after the expropriation of the bourgeoisie by the proletariat. It has nothing to do with "a situation where all work equally hard and perform equally well." Your allegations about Engels being some sort of proto-Nazi are also extremely absurd and Germanophobic. Why don't you read the Communist Manifesto again before ranting and raving against communism?
